Rajon murder case: Muhit Alam placed on 5-day remand

Sylhet, July 13, 2015: The Judicial Magistrate Court- 2 here today placed Muhit Alam, the prime accused in Samiul Alam Rajon murder case, on a 5-day remand.
Judge Farhana Yasmin of the Judicial Magistrate Court- 2 passed the order after police produced Muhit Alam before the court seeking a seven-day remand.
Police arrested one more suspect in the Rajon killing case. He was identified as Ablus. Police formed a special team to arrest other suspects in the murder case.
Dr Tahmina Islam of Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital conducted the postmortem and found that brain hemorrhage caused his death, said officer-in-charge of Jalalabad Police Station Akhter Hossain.
Rajon’s body bore 68 serious injury marks, said the OC quoting the report.
Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, the 12-year-old boy who was brutally tortured at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of the city on Wednesday, died of brain hemorrhage, said the autopsy report today.
Meanwhile, local people held procession and rally demanding immediate arrest of the killers. Residents of 15-20 villages held a meeting at Rajon’s house on Sunday night. They also threatened a mass movement if the administration failed to arrest Rajon’s killers. (Source: BSS)
