Robi
is going to provide Wi-Fi connectivity in Dhaka University (DU). A Memorandum
of Understanding (MoU) was signed in this regard between Robi and DU on July 11
2015, Saturday.
Robi’s
Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mahtab Uddin Ahmed and DU’s Treasurer Professor
Dr. Kamal Uddin signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organization. The
signing took place at DU’s Faculty of Business Studies. DU’s Vice Chancellor
Professor Dr. A A M S Arefin Siddique was also present at the signing ceremony.
Robi
will provide free data facilities at the residential halls of University of
Dhaka tailored only for students who use Robi connection. Besides, the internet
access will be customized and controlled strictly for educational purposes.
In
addition, Robi will provide free data facilities through Wi-Fi in the buses
used by student and the faculty members of DU. As per the MoU, Robi will
provide the Wi-Fi connectivity within 15 months.
Speaking
at the signing ceremony DU’s Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. A A M S Arefin
Siddique thanked Robi for coming forward to provide Wi-Fi connectivity for the
DU students. He felt that free internet connectivity through Wi-Fi at the
residential halls and student buses will certainly enhance the standard of
education at the prestigious university.
Commenting
on the occasion Robi’s COO said that higher education has become internet
based. Hence, it’s imperative that we provide the best minds of the country
with the tools to access the treasure-trove of knowledge available on internet.
Robi is truly humbled for getting the opportunity to provide Wi-Fi connectivity
to the DU students. We would like to thank the DU authority for facilitating us
